“Seoul Tokyo Love Festa 2007” on Oct. 5 will probably be on the must-see list of all K-pop and J-pop fans. Featuring Clazziquai and Japanese hip-hop stars Soul’dOut and m-flo, as well as Dynamic Duo, House Rulez and w&whale, the show promises to be an exciting mix of electronica, hip-hop and dance music.
Clazziquai, made up of DJ Clazzi and vocalists Horan and Alex, are expected to perform hits from their latest album “Love Child of the Century.”
Soul’dOut is a Japanese hip-hop group with members Diggy-Mo, Bro. Hi and Shinnosuke. The group has released several albums such as “To All Tha Dreamers,” “Alive” and “Remixes & Outside.”
M-flo will return to Seoul for another performance at the “Seoul Tokyo Love Festa 2007.” Although they performed two weeks ago, one of their concerts was marred by a delay that caused fans to wait for nearly three hours. However, rapper Verbal and DJ Taku may have a chance to make it up to their fans.
The “Seoul Tokyo Love Festa 2007” at the Walkerhill Hotel’s Vista Hall starts at 9 p.m. on Oct. 5 and ends at 4 a.m. the next day. Tickets are 70,000 won and 55,000 won.
Hip-hop group Dynamic Duo will have their solo concert at the poolside of the Walkerhill River Park Sept. 8. Tickets are 77,000 won and 66,000 won.
The duo is composed of Choiza and Gaeko, They used to be members of the rap group CBMass. They released their third album “Enlightened,” featuring collaborations with YDG, Bada, Bubbled Sisters, Bobby Kim and Verbal Jint, last May.
Dynamic Duo recently performed the opening act during the Black Eyed Peas concert in Seoul Aug. 15. Black Eyed Peas members had personally chosen Dynamic Duo over other Korean artists to be their opening act.
Indie rock band My Aunt Mary will hold a series of “Real Live” concerts at Club Ta in Hongdae, from Sept. 6 to 9. The Sept. 6-7 concerts will start at 8 p.m., while the Sept. 8-9 concerts will start at 6 p.m.
My Aunt Mary is one of the top rock bands in Korea. The band, composed of Jung Soon-yong, Han Jin-young and Park Jung-joon, started in the underground rock scene and eventually achieved mainstream success with their third album “Just Pop.” The album was named 2005 Album of the Year by the MBC music awards.
Another indie artist Yi Sung-yol will also have his “Real Live” concerts from Sept. 13 to 16 at Club Ta. His masculine and passionate voice is showcased in his latest “In Exchange” album, which was released last May. Tickets for My Aunt Mary and Yi’s concerts are 33,000 won.
